Last Saturday I went to Changli with Ms. Zhong Jia and we saw about over 200 Common Cranes among them one Hooded Crane and over 190 Bean Goose. The people there said to us in Janurary there were about over 1500 Common Cranes (some said over 2000 common cranes) landed on the rice field there. On the way there we also saw a small group about 15 Common Cranes flying to northward. Jesper said he saw Glaucous Gull at Sandflat area last week.
good to learn re these birds, though if northward migration already starting (with such numbers) may be a bad sign, reflecting global warming.
